PLOUGHING

We currently operate three mounted reversible ploughs, a key part of the cultivation process which we believe is essential to a good crop. By breaking up and cultivating the soil, incorporating previous crop residues and helping to control weeds, ploughing aids both drainage and root growth, resulting in a better cropping experience overall.

POWER HARROWING

We currently operate two Kuhn power harrows at varying widths, allowing us to choose the best width to efficiently cater to individual client’s needs. Our power harrows are used to effectively break up the soil and evenly redistribute it over the entire working width. Best used after the plough or rotary hoe, the power harrow is perfect for secondary tillage to create the optimal seedbed.

ROTARY HOEING

Our PTO driven Breviglieri Rotary Hoe B200v300 allows both firm and preworked soil to be loosened and mixed, effectively breaking up the earth to create a seedbed which generally won’t require anymore additional soil preparation before seeding, and can be used as an alternative to ploughing.

SOIL AERATOR - RIPPERS

Our New Zealand designed and built, James Engineering, Soil Aerator is used to help overcome the compaction of soil, which results in excess moisture on pasture surfaces, shallow root systems, and restricted plant growth. The Aerator works the top 25cm of the soil, draining the pasture surface and increasing the work population and activity. Using the Soil Aerator before planting allows a seedbed and cropping base with increased potential for root growth, and in turn pasture growth, while retaining fertility on the pasture surface. The increased depth root structure also increases the crop’s ability to maintain growth in dry weather conditions to suit your needs.

LEVELLING

Our leveller is used after a paddock’s initial cultivation to level and smooth out rough areas and create a better overall contour. This results in an easier worked field, and also helps to produce a more consistent seedbed.

ROTARY TILLING

Operating a Hooper ‘204’ Series Cultivator allows our customers the option for a machine that effectively cultivates the seedbed, controls weeds, mulches ground stubble, levels the worked ground and breaks down heavy soil clumps to produce an excellent base for seeding.
